Zebras belong to the same family of horses and donkeys, and that explains the similarity. In Africa there's the possibility of seeing these particular shapes and colors in their natural environment. Zebras have an approximate weight of 300 kilograms, and two meters and a half or more of length.
Then, with that weight what do they eat? Their diet is exclusively based on vegetables, so it's another example of mammals living without requiring constituents from other evolved species (brain, eyes, nervous system, ...).
Great runners and during large seasons, zebras show a particular style of movement and a well-defined social behavior. It's curious that they are capable of sleeping standing up, giving them an advantage in a place usually surrounded by dangerous creatures.
You could see people mounting donkeys or horses, but thinking a bit zebras is not very common. They have a character that could create to the rider a considerable risk!
